VeryBerry in Buffalo Grove, IL
Great frozen yogurt taste- with very thick and heavy consistency and no ice crystals. However, they are very stingy with toppings and the people working there are amongst the most unfriendly and rude I have ever encountered at any establishment. The atmosphere is different and looks like a typical coffee shop. They have magazines to read, which encourage you to stay longer. It is located in a desolately abandoned strip mall with a strange smattering of stores. Overall, take it to go!

You should add TCBY to your blog. TCBY was the first frozen yogurt shop 30 years ago and is still around!
TCBY isn't real yogurt- aka it's not certified by the National Yogurt Association http://aboutyogurt.com/index.asp
TCBY is just soft serve ice cream disguised as yogurt, with no fruit toppings. It's not tart either and leaves a sour aftertaste due to the artificial sweeteners that are added.
I agree that Yogurtland should come here! Menchies, which is very similar to Yogurtland is supposed to have a location opening in Northbrook, but they are dragging their butts and i'll believe it when I see it!
I received a message from Yogurtland after inquiring about a chicago location and received the following response:
"Thank you for your interest in Yogurtland. We are currently looking to expand in Chicago. We are looking for experienced operators interested in developing more than one location."
Hopefully they will find individuals interested in franchising several locations in Illinois! :)
I actually called about Menchies, they backed out of the lease and are no longer opening in NBC. WHAT LIES!!! I can't take it anymore. And you are right, yogostation is quite dissapointing. I don't have a google account but my email is staceycookie (at) yahoo.com ... let's stay in touch so we can discuss future self-serve yogurt places :)
There is a menchies in Knoxville TN which to my knowledge is the closest self-serve place to Chicago! They are supposed to be opening one up in Nashville. It is a shame because it would do amazingly well here, Look at berry chill!
